Woven panel with bamboo and polyester yarns
This woven panel depicts a celestial being in a praying position. The image was adopted from a mural painting in Wat Yai Suwannaram in Petcha Buri province in Thailand, painted in the late Ayudhaya period.
The work is composed of bamboo strips wrapped with coloured yarns in designated areas. The strips are later woven together to create the forms.
The woven panel is specially created to offer to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to show gratitute. She is the president of Anandamahidol Foundation from which I received the scholarship to persue MA and PHD at the Royal College of Art between 2013-1018.
